Like many people today, I live a very stressful life and when I am not at work, I am always busy caring for my two young children. One day, I decided to get a massage at a local spa to ease my sore, aching muscles. Once I entered the salon, I realized they had a great half-day package deal that also included a manicure, pedicure, and a body wrap. I decided to go for the package and I found the experience very relaxing. My stress virtually melted away and I now take time to visit the spa every month to enjoy the package. I am eager to share my experiences with salons and spas with others who want to learn more about what they have to offer on my new blog!
One of the great things about smart liposuction is that the process is not as invasive as regular liposuction, which means the recovery process can be quick. However, that doesn't mean you can't take improve your recovery process. Here are some tips for recovery.
Tip #1: Get a Ride Home
Even though smart liposuction is less invasive than regular liposuction, you are still undergoing surgery, which is why you are going to want to get someone to drive you home. You just experienced a medical procedure, so be sure you have a ride home from your surgery that doesn't involve you being behind the wheel.
Tip #2: Bring Loose-Fitting Close
When you head into surgery, be sure to have some loose-fitting cloth you can wear after the surgery. It is common to experience a little swelling after liposuction around the area where the doctor removed the fat. Wearing loose-fitting clothing will help make the experience more comfortable.
Tip #3: Get Compression Garments
You are going to want to purchase some compression garments before your surgery. You will want to wear the compression garments after your surgery, generally for a couple of weeks. Your doctor will let you know exactly how long you should wear your compression garments. This will help your body heal from the procedure.
Tip #4: Avoid Soaking in Hot Water
You should avoid soaking in hot water, such as sitting in a bathtub or sitting in a hot tub after surgery. Although not hot, you should avoid ocean water as well. Your body needs to recalibrate and deal with removing fat from your body, and the tissue needs to heal and be redistributed.
Tip #5: Take Your Antibiotics
Next, you are going to want to take the antibiotics that your doctor prescribes. Be sure to take your full antibiotic prescription. This will help ensure that you don't get an infection, and taking the whole round of antibiotics will help ensure that your body doesn't become resistant to any antibiotics.
Tip #6: Be Patient
Although you will be able to get back to your regular activities relatively quickly with smart liposuction, as it doesn't require the use of a drain and is less invasive than a regular liposuction procedure, it can still take time for you to see results.
Your doctor will let you know how long it should take for you to see results, based on where and how much fat you had removed from your body, but you may continue to see changes to your body from the procedure for a few months up to half a year following the procedure.
If you have any questions about your smart liposuction treatment, be sure to discuss them with your doctor. Ensure you understand all of your aftercare instructions for the best results.
