A Day at the Spa Is Great Stress Relief

Like many people today, I live a very stressful life and when I am not at work, I am always busy caring for my two young children. One day, I decided to get a massage at a local spa to ease my sore, aching muscles. Once I entered the salon, I realized they had a great half-day package deal that also included a manicure, pedicure, and a body wrap. I decided to go for the package and I found the experience very relaxing. My stress virtually melted away and I now take time to visit the spa every month to enjoy the package. I am eager to share my experiences with salons and spas with others who want to learn more about what they have to offer on my new blog!

FAQs About Your First Brazilian Wax

Blog

Getting your first Brazilian wax can bring up some mixed emotions and feelings. On one hand, you're probably excited to be hairless and smooth. On the other hand, you might be a little worried about embarrassment and pain. Getting answers to your burning questions can help you feel more comfortable. So, here are some FAQs people ask about getting a Brazilian wax for the first time.

Should you shave beforehand?

While you may be a little embarrassed by the idea of someone seeing you with unshaven hair, you really do need to avoid shaving before your Brazilian wax. The wax needs some hair to cling onto, and if you've just shaven, the wax won't be able to remove the hair. Most people need to avoid shaving for at least two weeks before their Brazilian wax. If your hair grows more slowly, waiting three weeks is wise.

Where will the hair be removed from?

A Brazilian wax involves removing all of the hair from your entire genital region and pelvic region. There won't be any hair left behind when your waxer is finished. If this is not what you want, then talk to your waxer! There are many other bikini area waxing patterns that they can use if you decide a Brazilian is not quite right for you.

Will the Brazilian wax hurt?

The short answer to this question is "yes." Unfortunately, pain is just a part of getting waxed "down there." However, there are some things you can do to help minimize the pain. Take a dose of ibuprofen about an hour before your appointment. It will help ease the discomfort during and after the waxing session. Your waxer may offer to apply a numbing spray to your skin before waxing. Consider using this option. Also, remember to try and remain as relaxed as possible during your waxing session. The more relaxed you are, the less the waxing hurts.

Will you be embarrassed during your waxing session?

Everyone is different, and some people are more embarrassed than others when they get waxed. Just know that your waxer will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. They'll typically drape your body so they only see the area they're working on. They'll be discrete, and they should not say anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or out of place.

Getting a Brazilian wax can be really gratifying, especially when you know what to expect. Contact waxing services to learn more and make an appointment.
