A Day at the Spa Is Great Stress Relief

Like many people today, I live a very stressful life and when I am not at work, I am always busy caring for my two young children. One day, I decided to get a massage at a local spa to ease my sore, aching muscles. Once I entered the salon, I realized they had a great half-day package deal that also included a manicure, pedicure, and a body wrap. I decided to go for the package and I found the experience very relaxing. My stress virtually melted away and I now take time to visit the spa every month to enjoy the package. I am eager to share my experiences with salons and spas with others who want to learn more about what they have to offer on my new blog!

Why is African hair braiding such a great style idea?

African hair braiding styles are so amazing because they are deeply rooted in cultures that span several different periods of time. These styles are convenient and protective, since they allow your scalp to get the moisture and air that it needs, while also sporting braids that neatly position your hair out of your way. They are low maintenance styles that you can dress up or wear casually, and you'll appreciate just how intricate and versatile they are. There's a braid you can choose for any style that'll fit your face and personality.

What are some styles that you can try out?

It's important that you consider the various African hair braiding styles that you can try out. These various styles have survived several changes in society and are carried out in numerous cultures throughout the African diaspora. For instance, cornrows are a common African hair braiding style that dates all the way back to 3000 BC in Africa. In the 1500s, these styles even explained and denoted your family lineage and other important information, using the intricate designs as a source of expression and communication.

Some other examples of African braiding styles you can try out include micro braids, kinky twists, box braids, goddess braids, fish bone braids, and so many others.

How you can find a shop that can provide a braided style?

Make sure that you take time to find an African hair braiding salon that can do the work for you. Find out how many braiders they have in the shop, their availability, and examples of past styles they've done. Find out whether one person will be handling the style or if multiple braiders will work on different sections of your head at the same time. Micro braids might cost you $100-$500 or so, depending on where you live and how many braids are installed. Ask for a ballpark estimate of how long the style will take so that you can plan accordingly.
