A Day at the Spa Is Great Stress Relief

Like many people today, I live a very stressful life and when I am not at work, I am always busy caring for my two young children. One day, I decided to get a massage at a local spa to ease my sore, aching muscles. Once I entered the salon, I realized they had a great half-day package deal that also included a manicure, pedicure, and a body wrap. I decided to go for the package and I found the experience very relaxing. My stress virtually melted away and I now take time to visit the spa every month to enjoy the package. I am eager to share my experiences with salons and spas with others who want to learn more about what they have to offer on my new blog!

What Kinds Of Facial Treatments Can You Get During A Facial?

Blog

Facial treatments come in a variety of styles. No matter your skin qualities and characteristics, you will find that each treatment serves its own purpose. During a facial, your provider may offer several different treatment options.

So, which facial treatment can you expect during your next spa session? These are some common choices.

Chemical Peel

The chemical peel is a tried and true method of reducing signs of aging. Chemical peels are designed to facilitate the evening out of your skin tone, which gives your face a more uniform appearance. Now, there are different levels of chemical peels that allow you to target specific problems.

Exfoliation

Sometimes all your skin needs is a deeper exfoliation than you are able to do at home. Exfoliation removes the outer layer of skin, allowing the new skin to work its magic. You will notice that your skin is more event and soft when the outermost layer is removed.

Microdermabrasion

If you are getting to the age where you have both scars from teenage acne and light age spots, you might consider microdermabrasion. This treatment uses a buffing tool to remove outer layers of skin. Microdermabrasion illuminates the skin, removing wrinkles in addition to large pores.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Many spas offer laser skin resurfacing as well. This process works similar to microdermabrasion in that it removes layers of skin, but it also promotes the growth of collagen. You will see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles on your face. Your face will feel and look smooth after treatment.

Not interested in resurfacing your skin? You might instead prefer rejuvenation, which also uses lasers. Instead of targeting the outer layers of skin, rejuvenation targets the innermost layers to tighten the skin. You will also improve collagen growth so that your skin has more elasticity and plumpness.

Targeted Facial

If you have a specific skin type, your provider may recommend a targeted facial based on the issues your skin commonly faces. For instance, you may have dry skin that would benefit from gentle exfoliation and hydration. The same applies if you have oily skin or if you have other issues that affect you more severely.
