A Day at the Spa Is Great Stress Relief

Like many people today, I live a very stressful life and when I am not at work, I am always busy caring for my two young children. One day, I decided to get a massage at a local spa to ease my sore, aching muscles. Once I entered the salon, I realized they had a great half-day package deal that also included a manicure, pedicure, and a body wrap. I decided to go for the package and I found the experience very relaxing. My stress virtually melted away and I now take time to visit the spa every month to enjoy the package. I am eager to share my experiences with salons and spas with others who want to learn more about what they have to offer on my new blog!

Achieving The Salon Style You Want: 5 Tips

Blog

The last thing you want to do is spend the day at the salon only to walk out with a style you do not want. Did you know that this outcome is equally concerning to your stylist? Your stylist wants your visit to the hair salon to be enjoyable, but achieving this goal requires an effort on your end too. Learn what you can do to ensure your stylist knows what you want.

1. Schedule a Consultation

If you have an intricate haircut, color process, or hair installation request, schedule a consultation with your stylist. On the day of the appointment, you will have less time to flush out all the details with the stylist if you do not. A consultation ensures the stylist is prepared and you are on the same page.

2. Bring Pictures

When someone tries to describe a style, much can get lost in translation. The best way to ensure they know precisely what you are talking about is to bring a picture. Even better, bring pictures that show varying angles of the hairstyle so that they can better understand what you want.

3. Answer Stylist Questions

It might seem like your stylist is asking random questions, but they are important, so answer them. For example, a stylist might ask someone if they work out or swim often. This question matters for certain color or hair installation processes because it helps the stylist determine what techniques are necessary to extend the life of the style.

4. Gather Hair History

Gather a hair history if you are looking for a style that involves any chemical application, including hair color. How recently you applied another chemical to your hair or any incidences where you experienced an adverse reaction to treatment will all be essential questions to answer to help again the stylist determine how to handle your hair.

5. Schedule Wisely

If you want to ensure you walk out of the salon with the style you want, never schedule an appointment when you are in a rush. You have to give the stylist ample time to work, which can sometimes be a little longer than expected, especially when it comes to color application. Ideally, schedule the appointment early on a day when you a free for several hours.

These tips will increase the likelihood that you walk out of the salon looking and feeling better than when you walked in, so be sure to follow these tips.
